A PLAN CONCEPT FOR THE 

TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK

 

 

The unique scenery of the North – South  going axis of DTU has been preserved in this project of a North European Rambla.

Till now the axis is used for scattered parking. The idea is to convert the axis to a principal traffic road and erect future buildings on the existing two lanes running along the axis.

In this way the University obtains possibilities for future building extensions at the same time as the magnificent axis remains.

Erik Reitzel has proposed this awarded plan concept in 2003 in collaboration with the architects Flemming Vestergaard, Jørgen Jørgensen, and Hans Peter Nielsen, colleagues at DTU, Department of Civil Engineering.
