A BOTANICAL GREENHOUSE

FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF OSLO

This project for exhibiting rare botanical plants and essential ecosystems of the earth is situated in the Cultural Park of Toyen in Oslo.

The load-bearing structure of the greenhouse consists of a spacious folding work built of inclined steel lattices, which form a rational and economic construction. Due to the structural design the glass sheets that are positioned outside the folding work will become extremely auto – purifying.

The project was awarded in 1998 and was planned and detailed by the team of Arne Eggen (architect), Peder Borup (landscape architect) and Erik Reitzel (structural engineer).
