This
project for exhibiting rare botanical plants and essential ecosystems of the
earth is situated in the Cultural Park of Toyen in Oslo.
The
load-bearing structure of the greenhouse consists of a spacious folding work
built of inclined steel lattices, which form a rational and economic
construction. Due to the structural design the glass sheets that are positioned
outside the folding work will become extremely auto – purifying.
The project was awarded in 1998 and was planned and
detailed by the team of Arne Eggen (architect), Peder Borup (landscape architect)
and Erik Reitzel (structural engineer).
