Erik
Reitzel, consulting engineer, has developed a light veranda in glass and
aluminium. The shape of the construction was decided so that the solar radiation
is at a maximum in winter, and minimum in summer.
Being
assembled like a meccano system, the structures can be taken to pieces.
The aim
of the project was to verify the theory of “zoning”. In collaboration with
the architect Hans Friis Mathiasen, Erik Reitzel advanced the zoning theory in
1974 and won the first prize in a competition on energy economy in habitations.
The competition was organized by the National League of Building Societies (
Boligselskabernes Landsforening).
